Hamboards.com has great products, a great online presence, but they had trouble getting the sales. I conducted a survey, usability test, and I analyzed their Google analytics and found out that people had trouble checking out due to not understanding the product thoroughly. A few suggestions helped increase sales. Here are the suggestions made:
- better information architecture
- creating a new home page that funneled the visitors appropriately
- product page layout to better communicate product details and highlights
- shipping rates page that was easy to understand
Once conducting the study, I worked out the wireframes and specifying the interactions. I worked with another designer who worked his magic on the high fidelity design and I ended up working on some minor high fidelity designs. I did some basic coding mainly in HTML/CSS, and some edits in jquery when needed.
The results were a conversion rate increase by 23%, average order value increase by 22%, time on site by 8%, page view by 202%, session duration by 9%, and a decreased bounce rate by -11%. The revenue increase by 142%.
